Hi Bricksters !

I'm back from summer vacation, and it was a blast. We went to Wshington D.C. and New York City this year. Visited a couple Lego stores along the way, in VA (Thanks to Matt at the Store for helping out), and in Burlington Mall MA. (thanks to Steve, and Darn it I forget her name, it might be Karen, can't remember.)

Got some video, and pictures along the way, and some new sets and some Non-Lego brick sets as well so I can do reviews and builds of them for comparison.

So Season 5 will start soon.

I sarted to put together the set and found two pieces the same when in fact they should be flips of one another, the wings!!!

The instructions show the part #'s as the same part but i think it is a typo, and maybe a fault in the set as well. I have a request in to find out what the H@# is going on here.

New 9v train tracks being produced. Out of Youngstown, OH USA. This is great it breathes life back to the AFOL community and users of 9v track. I believe this was a bad move for LEGO to discontinue the 9v system, but I'm only one of a zillion people that think the same thing. I am so glad someone has brought it back to life. Now to get the metal train motor wheels, and we will be laughing. Kudos to the team at Me-Models.

Hobby Show at Shearwater

The show today was awesome so far. A few friends came up to me and had a chat. As well as a few guiys from Hal-Con 2010 came over, suited up in awesome armor, so they asked me to wear the Boba Fett Suit tomorrow, so I guess I will. Off to fix some bugs in the RCX program for my Hoth display. Chow for now.

NOVALUG will NOT be having a display at Hal-Con 2011 this coming year. It runs Nov 12 and 13th, 2011. It's at the Trade Centre in Halifax, and exhibit Pricing is just too high for a non-for profit group like ourselves, too be able to display our work on a six foot table. Instead, that weekend we will be at the Dartmouth Sportsplex Annual Model Train and LEGO show, where we can much much more LEGO and display. It was nice to participate last year at Hal-Con and have that experience as well as meet so many great people.

A new "Star Wars" themed area at Legoland California with 2,000 Lego models will take visitors chronologically through scenes from the epic film saga.

Scheduled to make its debut March 31, the new "Star Wars" area will be part of the Carlsbad kiddie park's Miniland, park officials said Thursday. It will feature animated scenes from the six movies in the series and the "Clone Wars" television cartoon -- complete with special effects and sound effects.

Eight model makers and two animators based at Legoland Germany have been working for a year with Lucasfilm to create 1:20 scale versions of iconic "Star Wars" characters, spacecraft and landscapes using 1.5 million Lego bricks.

In addition to posing for photos with life-size Lego models of Chewbacca, R2-D2 and Darth Vader, visitors will be able to wander through seven Lego-fied "Star Wars" scenes, including:

Episode I: Naboo
Battle scenes at the royal palace and a flight hangar feature a duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul.

Episode II: Geonosis
Obi-Wan, Padme Amidala and Anakin Skywalker battle creatures in the Geonosis arena while nearby a battle unfolds between a droid army and Republic fighters.

Episode III: Kashyyyk and Mustafar
A battle rages on the Wookie planet of Kashyyyk while Obi-Wan and Anakin engage in a fateful duel on the volcanic planet of Mustafar.

Episode IV: Tatooine
Obi-Wan, C-3PO and R2-D2 appear at Luke Skywalker's childhood home in addition to scenes featuring the Mos Eisley Cantina band and Han Solo's Millennium Falcon.

Episode V: Hoth
Imperial AT-ATs as well as Rebel snow speeders and X-wing fighters can be found on the icy planet of Hoth along with Luke, Han, Darth Vader and Princess Leia.

Episode VI: Endor
The Rebel Alliance defeats the evil Empire on the Ewok's forest moon of Endor.

Clone Wars: Christophis
In a scene that chronologically takes place between Episodes II and III, Jedi Knights Anakin and Obi-Wan appear amid an 8-foot-tall Crystal City building.

As I grew up my parents took me to several different space museums on summer trips. i remember the Nei Armstrong air and space Museum, The Michigan Space Center, And Kennedy space Center Florida, where i saw the shuttle Discovery on the pad ready to launch,launch date was (September 29,1988 STS-26), the first one after the Shuttle Challenger diaster.(January 28,1986 STS-51-L). So when this LEGO set #10213 Space Shuttle Adventure , (brickset specs) was launched in the LEGO stores this summer i had to purchase one. It's a beautiful set. Here is my video of my thoughts on the Lego Shuttle and some other space memoribilia.

Lego loses trademark challenge at top EU court

(Reuters) - Danish toymaker Lego failed on Tuesday to quash an EU agency's decision revoking trademark rights for its colourful snap-together plastic building blocks, after a top European court dismissed its appeal. The Luxembourg-based European Union Court of Justice (ECJ) upheld a 2008 ruling by the General Court, which dismissed Lego's challenge to the decision by trademark agency OHIM. "The Lego brick is not registrable as a Community trade mark. It is a sign consisting exclusively of the shape of goods necessary to obtain a technical result," the ECJ said.
"Undertakings may not use trade mark law in order to perpetuate, indefinitely, exclusive rights relating to technical solutions," it said.
Privately owned Lego, whose name originates from the Danish words for "play well", is Europe's biggest toy manufacturer and competes with Mattel (MAT.O) and Hasbro (HAS.N).
Lego had argued that the bricks were eligible for trademark rights as the studs on the top of the bricks made them highly distinctive.
OHIM had repealed an earlier decision to grant trademark rights for Lego bricks after objections from Canadian toymaker Mega Brands Inc (MB.TO).

Here is the sale in Canada Only, And don't bother to use your TOYS-R-US Rewards cards in Canada. They (Toys-R-Us Canada) just refuse to be a part in such a great program, or so i was told by an employee. They also claim in their flyer that they have the largest selection of Lego in Canada, well maybe at some stores, but at our local store, (NOT). Walmart and Zellers has a longer shelf space. Truly the largest selection is Lego.com and usually cheaper than TRU as well. TRU sets higher prices on some of the LEGO so be careful of those sales, sometimes the lego sets are cheaper at other stores at regular price. I'm not saying don't buy there, just be careful if you want a deal.

In Halifax Today we have the International AirShow at Shearwater Base where many diverted planes landed that dreadful day. I thought of this yesterday as the F-18's were flying overhead practicing for the show.

On June 18th 2010, Lawerence Livesey (53), a great friend and master model builder from our local group, passed away. He had Lung cancer and was waiting for a transplant. He inspired many of us when it came to building unique items and trains. He loved the shows and talking to people. I will always remember his RCX cows. You will always be in spirit at the shows Good friend. God Bless.

Here is my Chromed Clone that I received from Toys-R-Us when I purchased over $30.00 of Star Wars LEGO. I put it in a Plastic case, and left the wrapper unopened, although I really want to play with it. I searched hi and low for a car display case, but no store carries the model car cases anymore, so I came up with this: I found 2-5x7 picture boxes, put them back to back removed the cardboard insert of course and taped them together, Voila a Display case. Go ahead and use my idea, that is why I put it here! Freddie

Clutch Powers Movie is Awesome. We watched it last night, and as sick as i am, i loved it. It was a combo of many great movies, and comedy. It is actually better than any other real movie I've seen in a long time. Its also a family movie so all the kids will love it, even though it says contains violence, but really LEGO arms falling off etc, at least there is no real blood.

I saw an advertisement for it last night. Didn't know there was one. Let's watch and see. admendum: I saw a shelf sticker at Wal-mart advertising this as well.

Crystal Palace LEGO FAIR 2010 Day 2. The fair wrapped up today, it was a huge success. More people than last year attended, and the kids loved the building contests and many displays. The LEGO trains, Great Ball Contraption, sumo robots, robot-tug-o-war, Star Wars LEGO, Planes, Racecars, and more but just to name a few. Wal-Mart's Lego Price Rollbacks

WARNING: Wal-Mart's (new lower price Rollbacks) are NOT SO rollbacks, BECAUSE: I bought a LEGO set on Saturday which was rolledback from $129.99 to $99.99. Well it came up FULL price, when I went to customer service, they told me bluntly, that rollback means just a longer sale than a week. it's not a new lower price forever thing. (FALSE ADVERTISING)...is what it is. BE CAREFUL. When I told them that there were none since it was rolled back, they said that I should have got a raincheck, that's when I said why? its a new lower price, rollback, why get a raincheck, that's when they told me no Rollback is a "FANCY NAME FOR A SALE". Sorry you missed it. I was Pi.... off.

is on this weekend, Saturday Nov 14 from 9am to 4:30pm and

Sunday Nov 15 from 10am to 3pm.

On display will be the Dartmouth Club and U.M.G. HO scale layouts,

Mike's G scale layout, Errol's Z scale layout , A small G-Scale

layout by Joz., Marc's O-27 Lionel U-drive layout and the very

popular LEGO layout and a robotics display. Of course, a

wide selection of vendors will offer new and used items.
